Whilst we were back in England for a number of engagements we decided to take the grandchildren to a short break at the camping and caravan club site at Kingsbury water park just north of Birmingham. Its only a short distance from home, but a world away from the city.

We found this to be one of the nicest and cleanest sites we had visited in England, being England in July the weather was as to be expected wet and cold, with a few nice sunny breaks, the adjoining water park must be one of the best spots in the west midlands with something for everyone walking, cycling, fishing, boating, nature reserve, and adventure playgrounds. The toilet/shower blocks were immaculate and you could not fault them in any way. The children's play area was great too and the kids loved playing there. Pretty much all the pitches had electrical hookup. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. There was a lovely pub called the Dog and Doublet which was 20 minute walk along the tow path, which had a lovely beer garden and children's play area. Kingsbury Water Park was a beautiful site and I would certainly recommend it,

Kingsbury Water Park has 15 lakes situated in over 600 acres of country park. Stroll along the surfaced paths, explore hidden corners, spot birds and wildlife, ride your bike. The Adventure Playground at Far Leys, within the Park, is completely fenced round, and is a safe area for children to play.
We arrived with trailer loaded with toys and bicycles, and a large tent for the extra sleeping accommodation.Tent pitched and sorted ?
we were next to the playground
our youngest camper Kai 6 months old
Fox scrabble champion
Kitchen tent saw a lot of use
Time to leave after a very pleasant week, but we will soon be on our way to warmer climes
